This beautiful only lady is almost 110 year old and was ready for some special care. The existing solid brick home remains untouched other than the inclusion of a WIR & Ensuite to the master bedroom. This area was fitted out using dark veneer to robes and vanity tastefully blending with the existing timber finishes.
The existing hall with its dark timber floors opens up into the new large ground floor extension blending the new and old beautifully. The inclusion of high ceilings helps with the flow through effect. Sharp clean lines were created by using plaster reveal jambs to windows and doors.
The new ground floor extension includes an open plan kitchen (with large butler’s pantry), dining and family areas. Next is the rumpus room with floor to ceiling sliding doors which act as a partition, they can be closed to create a more intimate space or open for a wonderful entertaining area. All of these areas have access to the landscaped decking and pool area. The final design of these areas have been enhanced with an Alucobond fascade.
A hidden gym, guests laundry, workshop and bathroom where added to the end of the house to fit the family’s lifestyle.
A timber staircase handcrafted and finished to match the flooring leads to the 1st floor which consists of 2 bedrooms, bathroom and separate powder room. A private upstairs balcony leads off the 1st floor passage with views of the garden and pool area.
A carport was built to match the period of the original home with slate roof and gable.
The complete home was fitted out with Hydronic heating, reverse cycle air conditioning and in-wall ducted vacuum system.
Another outstanding features of the build include the Pure Vision open gas fire which was built into entertainment unit in the rumpus room.
