East Camberwell Renovation

WINNER OF THE MBAV 2010 EXCELLENCE IN HOUSING AWARDS $500,000-> $1 million.

This 1910’s East Camberwell Home had been left in disrepair for a number of years. The existing front 4 rooms & verandah were retained while the rest of the house was demolished to make way for new ground floor & 1st floor works.

The remaining rooms were extensively renovated to return them to their original glory.  This work required the matching of existing cornices, skirting, architraves & windows.  New gas fires with black iron inserts were installed in the existing chimneys in the Master Bedroom & lounge.

New wet areas, Ensuite, Bathroom, & laundry were constructed with fitted 2 Pac cabinetry & floor to ceiling tiles.

The entry/passage boasts a store cupboard which was fitted out with steel wine racks & glass doors.

A large open area has been added with 3000mm high glass sliding doors to 3 walls leading to the deck area with landscaped garden & built in pool.

The built in kitchen cabinets are a mixture of 2 Pac and timber veneer which creates an interesting finish. A large Butler’s pantry connects to the kitchen. The bay window in the dining room has been constructed to look like it and the dining cabinet are floating above the floor.

With a built in Heat & Glo gas fire and 2 Pac cabinetry the living room has a very inviting feel.

At the rear of the property 2 existing sheds were repaired and rendered so they blend in with the house and surrounding gardens.

A new 1st floor has a sitting room, bathroom & 2 bedrooms with WIR.

& fittings.

The front garden was landscaped and a timber arbor & picket fence were constructed to finish the project.
